Thank you for your interest in supporting the ministries of Cloyd's Cumberland Presbyterian Church (CPC). When you give to Cloyd's CPC, you are partnering with a church that:

  • Shares the grace and mercy of God, through bible-based teaching.
  • Feeds the hungry, and gives to the needy right here in Mt. Juliet.
  • Builds ministries that have a positive impact on our community.
  • Helps people find hope and meaning that can only be found through Jesus.

That said, what does the Bible say about giving? Luke in Acts 2 helps us to understand our primary motivation:

...all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
— Acts 2:44-47 (ESV)

So, why this outpouring of generosity?

The bond between the believers was so strong that they had a great desire to meet each others needs. They gave freely, with glad and generous hearts, of their lives, homes and food. Nothing was off-limits.

People were giving away what they had, exchanging their earthly treasures for treasures in heaven. Their giving was in response to the unearned grace of God, and how freely he offered HIS salvation.

The acknowledgement of God’s grace motivates us to give generously and selflessly for the purpose of glorifying God.
