I was born and raised in the Hermitage-Mt. Juliet area. As a youth and young man,
I attended Donelson CPC and Cloyd's CPC.I was a graduate of Mt. Juliet High School
in 1981. I received a Masters from Furman in Marketing, and worked in the private
business world for many years.
About ten years ago, I came to know Christ. It was a life changing experience for me.
I had a strong desire to know more of the Lord's word, and soon found myself taking
classes at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. I completed my studies with a ThM.,
a Masters of Theology.
At the time , I did this not to go into the ministry but to know more of God's word myself.
Afterwards, I came back to the Nashville area and started a private business. I ran the
business for several years, always involved in teaching God's word and being a part
of discussions. It was not until I went through an experience with cancer that the Lord
really put on my heart to work in the ministry. As you may know, I can be very stubborn-headed!
As a child, I had always said I would be a minister; little did I know that the Lord had those plans for me much later
in life! I worked for Graceworks Ministry, as Regional Coordinator, helping individuals in different churches to meet
medical expenses for devastating situations in their lives. This was what I was doing when one Sunday,last summer,
I found myself visiting Cloyd's CPC. I only intended to visit, but after the first Sunday, the Lord had shown me home!
Since I have been at Cloyd's, I have once again gone back to seminary to complete my Doctorate in Philosophy with an
emphasis on Old Testament Studies. I now work as a writer of Bible Studies. I have also been blessed with the
opportunity to work with the church since March, as Minister of Education and Outreach. My life is proof that with
God nothing is impossible!
